Claudia Estanislau founder of  It’s All About Dogs, started her interest in dogs when she was very young, by doing some volunteer with rescue centres in Portugal in S. João da Madeira, Porto e Coimbra. In 2004 she moved to London in the UK and continued her interest by starting a volunteer program with one of the best and biggest shelters in the UK, Battersea Dog’s Home.

Her volunteer tasks went from socializing with the dogs, to dog walking, application of TTouch techniques and some basic dog training. Throughout her volunteer with Battersea, Claudia enrolled in some short courses for dog training and behaviour and also about dog socialization techniques.

In 2005 Cláudia went to Canada to participate in a professional dog trainers course with Ben Kersen and the Wonderdogs. In this course Claudia learnt training

techniques and behaviour modification methods and she taught group and individual classes. She then returned to the UK and enrolled in the CASI Institute presided by James O’Heare, for the DTBC course (Dog Training and Behaviour Consultation).

In 2006 was born the It’s All About Dogs school. Working together with RSPCA where Cláudia became Responsible for Dog Assessment and Rehabilitation and for giving hands on support to new dog owners, It’s All About Dogs has gained a reputable name for giving sound information and support to pet dog owners. Active member of APDT, IIACAB (International Institute for Applied Canine Animal Behaviour) and IPDTA (International Positive Dog Training Association), the training methods and behaviour modification techniques are based in the science of learning and dog behaviour and in concepts of classic and operant conditioning without the use of physical punishments or aversive methods.

Since It’s All About Dogs was “born” Cláudia has been developing an extended work to fill the lack of information in Portugal about dog training and behaviour and other subjects related to all things dog. She was invited for a Seminar in Vila Verde (north of Portugal) about dog problem behaviour, she writes several articles for the Association Pelos Animais and she has developed several websites such as: www.treinodeclicker.net, www.caocomonos.com, caosciencia.blogspot.com.

At the moment Cláudia is in Faro where she moved to recently and continues to develop her career as dog trainer and canine behaviour consultant.
